The shape of teams installing CYNC today

CYNC is new. The roster below reflects the early adopters we actually see in the wild — small IT shops, engineering offices getting off EWS, and MSPs onboarding their first tenants. Honest scale, honest framing.

These are representative scenarios based on the shape of actual early installs, not named customer case studies. Attributed writeups will replace them as customers consent to share details publicly.

IT consultancy (internal use)

8 users

Trigger: Needed caller ID for colleague phones without standing up a PowerShell script or paying a SaaS subscription for eight people.

Outcome: Runs permanently on the free tier. One Windows VM, one Entra ID App Registration, no recurring cost. Directory data never leaves the tenant.

Small engineering office

~40 users

Trigger: Existing EWS PowerShell script was flaking on certificate rotation and had a hard sunset date of October 1, 2026. Admin wanted it replaced before holiday freeze.

Outcome: Migrated in an afternoon. Scheduled script + cert-rotation runbook replaced by a single Windows Service on Graph app-only auth with delta sync.

Early-stage MSP deployment

First 3 customer tenants, ~60 users total

Trigger: MSP needed a GAL-sync product it could push via RMM across customer tenants without paying per-seat SaaS fees on small clients.

Outcome: Deployed the service-only MSI silently from NinjaOne onto a management VM in each tenant. Each tenant's first 10 users are free; total billed spend stays in the low double-digit euros per month.

Attributed writeups are the most useful thing future admins can read. If you’d share even an anonymized deployment story (tenant size, before/after, and one quote), we’d like to publish it here.
